It’s Ziggys Birthday This Month And We Want To Zelebrate With You!

Ziggy loves seeing our customer’s artistic creations, so to zelebrate his birthday Ziggy wants to see some Paper Plate art.

To participate, create some Ziggy Paper Plate Masks and submit photos of your works of art in form below by Friday 31 March 2023 to be in to win an Art & Craft pack worth $200 for your school.

Remember, we’re zelebrating Ziggy birthday. Ziggy is the type of monster that loves creativity so be sure to get your classroom involved to help brainstorm ideas and maximise the fun. Think creativity, execution, and the sometimes-elusive Qizzle factor.

Making Ziggy masks – Activity

This is a fun activity to zelebrate Ziggy and encourage imaginative play that helps to develop fine motor skills.

Here’s what you need: Paper plates, card stock, glue, scissors, art supplies (e.g. felt pens, paint, pipe cleaners, ribbon).

Instruct your students to do the following, while carefully observing them.

  1. Draw two oval eyes on each half of the paper plate using a pencil, and carefully cut them out with scissors.
  2. Cut out two long Ziggy arms from card stock and a single heart shape from cardboard.
  3. Glue the large bunny ears to the back top of the paper plate.
  4. Decorate your Ziggy mask with art supplies, such as felt pens, paint, and dye, and use pipe cleaners or fabric such as felt around the rim of the plate to add his signature fuzzy texture.
  5. Glue a jumbo craft stick to the back of the plate to use as a handle or use elastic or ribbon to make the mask fit snugly around the user's head.

This activity helps students develop their fine motor skills in a fun and creative way. Students will demonstrate precision and control over hand movements by cutting their paper plates with scissors and students will also develop hand-eye coordination and dexterity by using various art supplies.
